Umberwick Showcase / Legal
Cookie Policy
1. What this policy covers
Umberwick Showcase uses a Shopify-hosted website to present entertainment production consulting services. This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies may be involved in operating that site, how optional purposes differ from core functionality, and what choices are available. It applies to website use rather than the separate handling of a project document or direct email.
The technologies actually present depend on the Shopify storefront configuration, theme, installed applications, platform functions, and your privacy choices. Our custom website sections do not add an analytics tracker, advertising pixel, session recorder, or embedded social-media widget. This does not mean that the hosting platform never processes technical information or uses essential technologies.
2. Cookies and related technologies
A cookie is a small piece of information stored by a browser for a website. Some cookies support a session and expire when the session ends. Others remain for a period determined by the service or until they are deleted. Similar technologies can include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, and identifiers used to recognize a browser or record a preference.
These mechanisms have different purposes and are not all interchangeable. A necessary security cookie is different from a marketing identifier. A server access log is not a browser cookie, although it can still contain technical information. The Privacy Policy explains the broader handling of information associated with website use and direct communication.
3. Core functionality and security
Shopify and infrastructure services may use essential technologies to deliver the storefront, maintain security, prevent abuse, remember applicable privacy decisions, and support core platform functions. Where commerce functions are enabled, the platform can also use technologies associated with sessions, carts, checkout, or customer access. The custom consulting form does not itself create those commerce features.
Essential purposes are generally handled separately from optional analytics or advertising choices. Blocking every cookie or required browser capability can affect the website’s operation. The cookie-preferences control does not offer to disable technologies that the platform treats as necessary for core functionality.
4. Optional purpose categories
| Category | Purpose if configured |
|---|---|
| Preferences | Remember optional choices, such as language or display preferences, beyond the functions necessary to deliver the site. |
| Analytics | Measure visits, navigation, and website use to help assess performance and usability. |
| Marketing | Support advertising measurement, attribution, or personalization through configured tools. |
| Data sale or sharing | Control relevant advertising-related sharing where recognized by the platform and applicable privacy settings. |
A category being described here does not mean a tool for that category is active. Optional services must be configured and disclosed based on actual use. We do not claim that completing an event brief authorizes every optional tracking purpose.
5. The event-brief form
The custom event-brief form validates the information entered in your browser and displays a local confirmation. Its code does not use cookies, local storage, or session storage to retain the field values. It does not transmit the completed brief to Umberwick Showcase, Shopify, an email service, or an application.
Browser autofill, password managers, browser extensions, and session restoration can remember or inspect information independently of this custom code. Those features are controlled by your browser or installed software. Closing or reloading a page may clear the custom form state, but the site cannot control information retained by a browser’s own features.
6. Storefront privacy choices
The website’s cookie-preferences control uses the Shopify Customer Privacy API when it is available. This connects optional purpose selections to the storefront’s consent system rather than storing an independent preference that the platform cannot see. The controls cover preferences, analytics, marketing, and the applicable data sale or sharing choice.
Shopify combines recorded choices with the merchant’s privacy configuration and the visitor’s region to determine processing permissions. A configured storefront banner may also collect those choices. The platform’s controls and any installed tools must be configured appropriately for the actual technologies used. A preference cannot promise to govern a service that is not integrated with the consent system.
You can open the available controls below. In an offline preview or where the platform API has not loaded, the control explains that it cannot save a storefront preference. It does not falsely report that a preference has been applied.
7. Recognized privacy signals
Some browsers provide a Global Privacy Control signal or other privacy setting. Shopify’s recognition and treatment of such signals depend on the applicable region and storefront configuration. Where the browser supplies a Global Privacy Control signal, our preference interface does not offer to enable data sale or sharing against that signal.
Different browser signals do not necessarily have the same legal meaning or technical effect. You may contact us about a privacy choice if the available interface does not reflect the concern you want to raise. We do not treat an unclear signal as permission to expand the use of information.
8. Managing cookies in your browser
You can usually review, delete, or block cookies through the privacy settings in your browser. Your browser may allow site-specific settings, limits on third-party cookies, or deletion of website data. The location and wording of these options depend on the browser and device. Browser controls apply separately from a consent selection recorded by the storefront.
Deleting cookies can remove a remembered consent choice and cause the site to ask again. Blocking required technologies may affect loading, security checks, or core platform functions. Restricting a third-party cookie does not necessarily prevent every request to that service or erase information previously processed by it.
9. Providers, duration, and changes
Cookie names, lifetimes, and providers can change when Shopify updates its platform or when the storefront configuration changes. This policy describes purpose categories without presenting an invented list of identifiers that may not exist on this store. A current technical inventory should be based on the deployed storefront and the tools actually enabled.
Before adding a new optional tracking service, the relevant notice and consent arrangements should be reviewed. A materially different use of information should not be introduced solely because a broad category appears in this policy. Installed applications may have separate privacy notices and retention arrangements.
10. Privacy and contact
Information associated with cookies may include browser identifiers, technical device details, page activity, or recorded preferences. Whether that information identifies a person directly or can be linked to other information depends on the tool and context. Our Privacy Policy provides additional information about purposes, recipients, retention, and requests.
If you have questions about cookie choices, a technology observed on the live site, or the relationship between the local form and the hosting platform, contact Umberwick Showcase. Include the page and a description of the issue, and avoid sharing passwords or sensitive browser data.
